Shut Up Tim McCarver!
May 17, 2008 – 15:49It’s times like today that I’m thankful as a Brewer fan that I don’t have to sit through many nationally televised broadcasts. Just listening to the broadcast crew makes me want to hurt baby deer.
It’s not just that the Brewers are playing horribly. It’s all due to the fact that Tim McCarver is absolutely the worst commentator I’ve ever had the displeasure of listening to. It’s just that he says some of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.
Case in point in the top of the second inning Prince Fielder doubled to lead off the inning. Corey Hart came to at bat and tried to bunt for a base hit. McCarver went on for what seemed like forever about how that was a stupid play. He couldn’t get it through his skull that Hart wasn’t trying to sacrifice him over (which is what ended up happening), but he was trying to bunt for a base hit! Corey Hart has the speed to do that, and that is part of his game.
It’s only the third inning and if I continue to listen to this crap I’ll likely be considered mentally retarded after 9 innings of it.
